I recently spent a few nights at The Chedi Muscat in Oman, and let me just say, if you’re into quiet luxury, this place absolutely gets it. No need to show off when you know you’re good.
First Impressions – Calm, Collected, and Classy
Stepping into The Chedi felt less like checking into a hotel and more like arriving at someone’s impossibly elegant Middle Eastern home. You’re greeted by tranquil water features, soaring archways, and courtyards that basically whisper “you’ve arrived.” No big spectacle. Just quiet confidence. Exactly the tone Oman itself sets.

The Grounds – Perfect for Getting “Lost” on Purpose
The whole property is made for wandering. Palm trees, reflective pools, little tucked-away seating areas. It’s the kind of place where you head out for a five-minute stroll and don’t come back for an hour. Not because you’re lost, but because every corner invites you to linger.

The Room – My Mini Palace (With a Bathtub I Actually Used)
I stayed in a one-bedroom suite, and it didn’t disappoint. Massive doors, high ceilings, and subtle Omani design touches gave the space an effortless sense of grandeur without feeling formal.
And then there’s the bathroom. Listen, I’m not a bath guy. But that tub? Basically a small pool pretending to be a bathtub. I fully gave in. Bubbles and all. Throw in Amouage amenities (because even your shower gel should feel fancy in Oman) and it’s safe to say the bathroom was the highlight.

Food & Drink – Brunch, Sushi, and Little Touches
Dining at The Chedi is consistently good, but a few standouts deserve special mention.
The Champagne Brunch happens every Friday and is exactly what you want it to be: big, elegant, and indulgent without being over-the-top. You’ll find endless options, free-flowing bubbles, and just generally good vibes.
That said, a quick note. Oman is a dry country, so alcohol is only served in certain areas and only during specific hours. But honestly, that shouldn’t deter you. I got drunk on the beauty of the resort itself. And if you do snag a glass of Champagne, just consider it a bonus.
Now, let’s talk about the sushi. I wasn’t expecting to have great sushi in Oman, but here we are. One of the managers talked me into trying their sushi restaurant (The Long Cabana Restaurant), and I’m glad they did. It’s fresh, creative, and served in a low-lit space that balances fire and water features for a vibe I’d call Middle Eastern lounge meets zen garden.
Throughout my stay, The Chedi nailed the small touches too. Frozen fruit, iced treats, and unexpected snacks would just appear when you needed them most, without fuss. Simple, thoughtful hospitality at its best.

Final Thoughts – Low-Key Luxury, Done Exactly Right
The Chedi isn’t about flash, and that’s exactly why it works. Everything from the service to the setting to the subtle design details is confidently understated.
If you’re looking for a place to unwind, reset, and experience real luxury without the fuss, The Chedi Muscat is it. When you’re ready to plan your own Omani escape, reach out. We’ll help get you there.
